Over one hundred Black Lives Matter chanting protesters showed up at the house of a black police officer with one “mostly peaceful” demonstrator firing a shotgun blast into the officer’s back door.
Officer Joseph Mensah was at home with his girlfriend and small children at the time. In a Facebook post, he describes the situation when a mob of angry protesters showed up at his house and engaged with him physically after he tried initiating a dialogue:
“I was unarmed and tried to defend my property and the property of my girlfriend. We were both assaulted, punched, and ultimately shot at several times. A shotgun round missed me by inches. Not once did I ever swing back or reciprocate any the hate that was being directed at me. I am all for peaceful protests, even against me, but this was anything but peaceful.”
The irony, as Officer Mensah pointed out, is that the mob was chanting “Black Lives Matter” while having zero regard for any of the actual black lives that were in the house.
“They threw toilet paper in her trees, broke her windows, and again, shot at both of us as they were trying to kill me. There are children that live there any the knew that.”
The protest was believed to have been regarding an incident earlier in the year when Mensah fatally shot a suspect while in the line of duty. He was suspended with pay while an investigation was being conducted.
In an interview with the Journal Sentinel, Mensah expressed frustration with the mob determining his guilt without any sort of due process,
“To call me a murderer, without any conviction, without any charges, and then to do something like this, again, I’m angry, I’m frustrated, I’m confused.”
Indeed, the Left has created a network of “morality police” that determine whether or not a person is guilty or innocent based on incomplete and often times inaccurate initial media reports. These arbitrators of social justice can be found on “news” networks, behind blue check-marks on Twitter, and even in the halls of Congress. This network of morality police judges each situation based on the limited information involved, determines who deserves to be punished, and then the “mostly peaceful” protesters take to the streets for violent vigilante justice based on these determinations.
The idea of due process and innocent until proven guilty are foreign phrases when it comes to the Left… that is until Joe Biden gets credibly accused of sexual assault. When that happens, we are going back to the system of rules and laws where a defendant gets their day in court.

Edit: Since this article’s publication, we have has more than a few emails asking us why we chose the image that we did for this particular story. The truth is that we believe that the Left is dehumanizing the police. They are attempting to paint every officer as some jack-booted thug whose sole goal is to hurt and kill minorities. We chose the image from Officer Mensah’s Facebook page because it shows that officers are people too. People who can love. People who can feel pain. People who care for others. These are people who are in desperate need of a little support from the public as Black Lives Matter and Antifa terrorists throw bricks at them, slash their tires, assault them at their homes, and attempt to belittle the impossibly tough job that they have. Blue Lives will always matter to us and we are unashamed to say so.
