The last few years has been interesting. But watching a bunch of elitist left wing activists and politicians complain about having to pay for an $8 dollar checkmark on twitter is odd.

Elon introduced the $8 dollar charge initially and a bunch of people purchased fake accounts. So he put it back on the drawing board to put in verification checks.

The idea is to hopefully move Twitter to a place where it is less reliant on advertisers.
