White House Pres Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that the Biden Administration was going to be a priority.
According to Fox News, she explained that Biden was “not afraid of standing up” to the National Rifle Association.
It might just come as a shock to President Biden, but gun rights do not actually come from the NRA or its members. Gun rights are actually spelled out quite clearly as inalienable right in one of the amendments of the nation’s founding document.
Via the Second Amendment of the Constitution:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
In layman’s terms, this is essentially saying that an armed populace is absolutely critical for the sake of a country free from a tyrannical State.
In fact, many fascistic governments of the past share a commonality in which they enact laws that disarm the people. The Left of the United States has been pushing for “common-sense gun regulations” for years. This despite the fact that they admit that their proposals would have had no impact on mass-shootings and that there are actually already laws on the books that make mass shootings illegal.
Despite the lack of evidence that more laws would diminish gun violence, a third of which are suicides, the Left continues to push for more control.
Yet the irony of all of this is that Joe Biden himself, who is surrounded by an army of armed guards, does not seem to understand why the Second Amendment is crucial for those who might find their homes under seige by a “fiery but mostly peaceful” mob of Leftists who think arson, looting, and violence is a means to fight alleged systemic racism.
In 2013, Biden had this to say about home security:
That’s right, folks, Joe Biden suggested that the only thing people needed when they were in their homes facing an intruder was to fire two shots of a double-barreled shotgun into the air to scare them off.
Let’s set aside the fact that Biden’s advice is potentially lethal because of the fact that what goes up must come down.
After making these remarks about home defense, it was quickly pointed out that, by wasting the two rounds from firing them into the air, you are essentially left standing there with an unloaded firearm and facing down one or more intruders who may or may not be armed themselves.
