Campus Reform’s Jezzamine Wolk talked to college students at George Mason University to find out if they would still support Joe Biden even after learning that he said he does not support the Green New Deal.
Just for context, during the first presidential debate, Donald Trump accused Joe Biden of supporting AOC’s radical Green New Deal. Biden said that he did not support the Green New Deal.
From Biden’s own campaign website:
“Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two basic truths, which are at the core of his plan: (1) the United States urgently needs to embrace greater ambition on an epic scale to meet the scope of this challenge, and (2) our environment and our economy are completely and totally connected.”
“Independent and completely unbiased” fact-checkers have performed some incredible mental gymnastics to explain how calling the Green New Deal a “crucial framework” for meeting climate challenges means that Joe Biden completely rejects the Green New Deal, but rest assured that they made it happen.
Wolk talked to Biden supporters to see what they thought about Biden stating that he does not support the Green New Deal. As an added bonus, these great minds were asked what they even knew about the Green New Deal that they so adamantly support. You can probably guess how it turns out:
